I have a evga 8800 GTX KO Sli, 4 gig corsair ddr2 800, evga 680i A1 mobo, vista ult 64 os, creative xfi plat pro sound card, 1kw sr psu pc power cooling. Anyways, what purpose does the ntune serve, and should i install it. I hear all these problems, so should I just install the driver for the cards or do both. And what video driver should I use for both open gl and dx games. I have been on the ati side of things for a few years, so I am looking forward to getting back to nvidia. ATI is a overpromising under delivering commpany IMHO. I would appreciate any feedback greatly before I boot up for the first time.

install 158.18

and use creative alchemy if you have some current/older games.

Alchemy is what you used for the drivers to run direct x sound right?

So the 158.18 is just the graphic driver and not the n tune correct. I just dont want the drivers being neutered at the expense of color options etc that wont work thanks to n tune.

yes and yes. Ntune will not install with the 158's you need to install Ntune separate (if you really want to)
