how well does mame work with a core 2 duo? does a core 2 quad run mame better?
does an 8800gtx provide good hw accelleration for the 3d games? or does the 8800 gtx have issues with it?
also, i can't get to dosbox's homepage anymore. whats the address?

Any modern CPU should run DOSBOX or MAME flawlessly.

Yup, Now running some ROMS might be tricky. Some CHDs will still run slow...

but i doubt they would be slow on a Core2. It's been a while since I've dabbled in emulation, but I remember my old AthlonXP chip being more than fast enough to run DOSBOX and Mame.

I appreciate the replies=)
Anyways, does the 8800gtx gives any issues that the 7 series wouldn't?

Nah there still pretty slow. Playable but they get random slow downs. I know Cruisen USA was horrid.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with CPU power, but emualation issues. I can run mame on my Axim's Xscale 624Mhz processor.

Not CHDs, Those require alot of computing power since many are 3D games without 3D accelerations.

That is probably why I haven't had a problem then. I haven't played any 3d games that I can think of.
