i dont know what happened. i just got an asus a7n8x deluxe with xp2400. just 2 days ago i could overclock to 2.31ghz with 185mhz fsb x 12.5 multiplier. today i tried the exact same settings and it wouldnt even post! ive tried all the multipliers and nothing worked. in fact, anything above 178mhz fsb would not even give me a post screen. the screen just stays black!! i dont know whats wrong. i have tried the memory at lower settings and adjusted voltage on both mem and cpu. i have had this working stable 2 days ago and it doesnt work anymore!! someone help!

So what you say , you can still boot and evrything works ok but not as high speced as before ?

1.You can try power off from MB and clear CMOS and try again with overcloak , (try from low overcloak to big again , don't give to much voltage)

2.reseat memory modules , make sure Heatsink is correctly attached to CPU , is your MainBoard chipset getting enough cooling ?
(maybe few days ago it was cold air and now its warm and your system overheating ? :p )

3. check you power cords maybe you have electricity problems and power is not constant (its possible :p )

4. if evrything fails

you fryd your memory and or melted your mobo GAME OVER MAN

heres the thing

1. i can still hit 2.32 ghz i cant hit that with a 185mhz fsb that i could a couple days ago.

2. I HAVE to clear my cmos everytime the computer wouldnt post because it just wouldnt post for me to change anything.

3. im sure the cooling is fine because i can still run stable at 2.31 ghz. i just want my fsb back again!

A similar thing happened with my geforce3 ti200. when i first got it, i could overclock it to 245/545 100% stable. after a month of use, i could not go above 235/530 for anything. i dont understand this.
