So I just got a new 22" Widescreen LCD. Games are so flippin' nice at 1600x1200. Wow, I didn't know what I was missing. I usually played at 1280x1024, (max res of my old monitor). STALKER, Test Drive Unlimited, and Resident Evil 4 all look pretty damn good !! -I'm sure most of you already know this, but I just had to post. I'm happy :)

Congrats on the upgrade Dreamingawake!

Best upgrade I've ever done was moving from CRT to widescreen LCD.

Enjoy and cheers :)

Now you can actually play at widescreen resolutions, which 1600x1200 is not, I know STALKER and TDU have native widescreen support, not sure about RE4.

Acutally, you should play in the native resolution of your new display. All other resolutions have to be scaled by the display and therefore look more or less crappy (of course, an excellent panel would look better on other resolutions than a cheap one.)

Grats on the monitor. I know the feeling. What monitor did you get? I love the Dell E228WFP I got for $300.

BTW: I'd clock that E6300 up and have a lot more fun if I were you. Should be able to do 2.4 easily.

You can't play @ 1600x1200 on that display m8

But glad you're enjoying it.

actually he might be able to not that it is really 16x12. on my lcd if you accidentally run a higher res that it supports it squishes everything down so it fits lol.

It doesn't have 1200 vertical pixels, so even if it squishes it, it's not running 16x12 is my point

On my 22" Samsung 225BW it will play at 1600x1200 ,it may not be supposed to but it does ,all LCD monitor test I perform shows it at 1600x1200 ,my monitor reads it at 1600x1200 at 60hz and all benchmarks and games show that resolution,so it may be impossible but it does play at that resolution.Somtimes I wonder if it is a 24' pannel that did'nt meet the requirements and they just made it a 22" pannel.I keep hearing how it is not possible to play at 1600x1200 because the monitor does not have that mant pixels to display it at that resolution but ever test I perform on it shows my max resolutio being 1680 x 1200.On the monitor test it shows the total number of pixels are 1,920,000 which equals to 1600x1200 so it is not scaled down.
