HP pre-built crap
Athlon XP 1200
1 gb PC1600 ram
10 GB HD
Windows XP PRO SP2
First step I did was copy a partition from another hard drive onto this 10 GB HD. I forgot to re-assign the drive letter from G: to C: on initial bootup, so I had to do a windows xp installation repair and have partition magic 8 re-assign the drive letter.
Everything is fine, except now system restore gives me a rundll error unless I disable the service, then I can access system restore and change options.
The biggest issue are these hidden 1.55 GB system files in my Windows directory. They're called Y, S, 0, 1, and three more files with random number 2 to 7. The Y, S, and 0 files are all 1.55 GB. I can't delete them in either normal or safe mode and they all update timestamp everytime I boot the computer.
I already did a sfc /scannow and repeated a repair windows installation twice, but it doesn't help.
