Those numbers are so funny and off. The Gts can only manage 1fps in Global illumination whatever that is? Lol.

Some how i don't think crossfire is almost 100% effeicent. Looking at reviews of a stock 8800GTX Vs a stock overclocked 650/2GHz there is about 10fps in most games some times greater. The HD 2900XT is quite a performer to it's compeditor the 8800GTS. But intill the kinks are worked out of the XTX with DDR4 ATi won't be able to claim the peformance crow in the ultra high end. But then again there is little money to be made there anyway.

And with that being at such a low rez i can imagine it to out perform the GTS even further.

Given how the XT beats the GTS in those dailytech benchmarks, I have no doubt that the Crossfire will smoke, but I doubt the disparity will be this severe.

Just wait until the new Nvidia part comes out and the GTX drops in price even more. ATI will then be seriously hurting.

The U.S. release will have DX10 support :) This is the first time I have seen what will be brought to the table with DX10 support in that game... pretty cool features :)

Plus there are still huge SLI performance problems in Vista! I think that's why the ATI Crossfire setup is so much faster in some tests.

I have yet to run my GTSs in SLi. Maybe I should plug my other GTS in and run some tests my self- then compare them to the results those guys got...

Well we don't know his system specs. It's hard to compare this way.

^^^ I know it doesn't compare to a rig with a Core2- but atleast it'd give us a better idea of how accurate those test are. I'm thinking I'm gonna' plug that other GTS in. Also, I am curious as to how well SLi works in Vista. Only one way to find out. :cool:

Yup, those are my system specs.

Can't do it now, gotta' get to bed. Maybe tomorrow after Church I'll be able to throw that second GTS in. Not sure what is going on after Church. I'll post back with results when I get to testing. ;)

As for the test system of the link

Intel D975XBX2 BadAxe2
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700
2x1GB DDR2-800 MHz. Windows XP

Testing of the AMD ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT was performed using the 8.361 Catalyst RC4 drivers, while the GeForce 8800 GTS used ForceWare 158.19 drivers.

Just tried running 3DMakr06... :(

It completes the "Return to ProxyCon" test no problem, but it freezes when loading the "Firefly Forest" test. I gotta' go for work, and then go to bed when I return.

I'll try '05 later today.

I'm wondering if it is SLi causing it to crash...?

Does it crash the loading screen for "FireFly Forest"? If so I'm betting it is just borked SLi in Vista. I'll see if I can try 05 and 03 later today.
