Just installed Vista Home Premium on my parents pc. They got it free through the HP upgrade promo thingy before Christmas. Seems to be running well..only thing is I was a little confused as to which Nforce drivers if any to install on this system. It has the 410 chipset. I ended up downloading the latest set from Nvidia and installed the smbus driver and smu driver whatever that is. I have a feeling only the smbus was installed so maybe smu isn't on this system. Then I went to Windows update and to my surprise it listed Nforce Hypertransport Bridge as an option update which I figured would have already been installed but when I checked the device manager it appears to be using default ms ones. I went ahead and intalled it and now they are replaced by Nvidia memory controllers but the driver is dated from 2005. Do you think I made a mistake in doing so or maybe won't make a dif either way? I tried searching but all the fuss is about sound and video drivers which were the easy part to get working for me so thanks ahead of time.
