I finally installed nVidia drivers, but I got yet a little problem..Kde seems to work fine, but I cannot see the nVidia popup as I read in a forum thread! And if I try to move into a vc I see only a flying message saying that the frequency I choose is too high,even if in my XFConfig-4 i got the same frequencies the technical sheet of my screen has. What can it be? Thanks again for your golden help|!!!!

Which nVidia popup is this again?

The message you're getting when switching to a VC has nothing to do with X's configuration (well... not directly anyway). It's a message from your monitor that the refresh rate of whatever mode your VCs run in, is out of range.

Are you using a framebuffer console driver? Check by doing a cat /proc/fb (before you start X), and posting back with what that says.
