Anyone here get one of these yet...

I'm on the fence about upgrading from my 2405FPW Rev A01. How much better can it be besides bigger???

You know you want it anyway, just get it! It's the best 30in panel out there and by the looks of things your rig can handle it.

If you only plan to use it with a PC, then it's a great monitor. If you also wanna do other things like watch movies, play console games, etc, stay alway from the 30-inch.

I'd agree it is bad for a console gamer, but for movies its fine...

If you use PC for the playback and scaling then it might be fine, otherwise it's terrible. because of the 1280x800 resolution for single-link.

I own one now, and well.. to be honest with you I miss the ability to use other devices on the LCD. I had a 2405 prior to this and it had all the goodies, I'm actually considering selling this off and getting the new Dell 2707WFP, 27" with all the inputs. However, running @ 2560x1600 is pretty cool! ;)

I'm glad you posted this. Although I mainly use my monitor for PC use. Yes, I'm a WoW addict. I can finally admit it. :D I do like the fact I can plug anything into my monitor. To be honest I hardly ever use anything but my PC on it but it is nice.

What I am really on the fence about is to get the 27 or 30. I would like to play my PC games in 2560 instead of 1920 but is it that noticable of a picture quality difference between the two resolutions?

If the 27 were able to display 2560 I would have bought it hands down.

Chances are though if it were that res, it would be plagued by the same problems. The 30" could be great if they solved the downscaling issue for a single link connector. to get to 2560 x 1600 they need to use a dual link DVI connector because it is over the amont of bandwidth that a single link can carry. The only problem is that devices that can't support the single link are dropped down to 1280 x 800 instead of 1920 x 1200 like they should.

Yeah, I really, REALLY wish it downscaled to 1920x1200 natively. Sigh. :(

Yeah, me too. I would've gotten the new 30 inch instead of the 2707 if it had better downscaling.

The 2707 has very good image quality, and looks as if it's got more color than the 2407, only downside is the slightly higher pixel pitch so some text may appear more pixelated when compared to the the 24 inch.

I for one love the quality of my Dell 3007WFP-HC 30" monitor. I would highly recommend it to whom ever is thinking of getting one. I have the resolution set to the max and it looks great with just about every application including movies. ;) I say go for the 30", you wont be disappointed. :)

I've read a lot of people being happy with going with a 1080p lcd hdtv for multi-input uses including pc use.. That's always an option..

Something like this. All the in/out puts and a gaming edition..
