repairing OPENGL

wondered if anyone here could help me out....
im running a new 8600GTS., on VISTA home premium...
had hell and all trouble getting the drivers installed to start with..with blue screens on startup all the time.....
however finally managed to get them working with version 158.18......
tried the newer leaked driver 165.01 and they showed a great improvement in performance and stability...running nearly 450 points higher benchmarks in 3Dmark06!!
however i use Poser 7, which of course uses openGL and the 165.01 drivers now cause it to blue screen all the time...
so went back to 158.18....uninstalled in safe mode...used driver cleaner to sweap the system...restarted...installed 158.18 again...everything seemed ok but still Poser wont open without blue screening...im 100% sure its opengl that is buggered...but does anyone know how i can replace the opengl files?

Almost everyone has reported problems with OpenGL with 165.xx, I'd say it's a driver issue and not user fixable. Stick with 158.xx for now until NV releases a new set - I don't think is a way to "repair" this yourself.

having used driver cleaner to return to the 158 drivers im still getting the error though...
although the 158 drivers worked when initially installed....
what else do i need to clean off to return to pure 158 drivers?

I had to manually clean out all the old driver entries + the ones tomb18 has listed in the registry before I was able to run stably again.

thanks for your help....followed the guide and gone back to 158 drivers and it all seems ok now...
its a shame though...the 165 drivers eemed alot better for games....
damn Nvidia and their lack of VISTA drivers!!!!
