On a side note.... I can't even get ready boost to work... every thumb drive I put in it says its not fast enough or some BS... lol. :(
Sniper, buy a sandisk cruzer, the U3E version is probably the best coz of the VOIP app it comes with. I went through 3 before I finally did some research and discovered that the cruzer titanium's seem to work universally.
I bought a 4 GB version so I can use the additional 2 gig's for file storage. Plus the flashing activity light helps me see when it is active.
And whats the point in a hack for a feature that is only useful above certain read/write speeds? :)
You're right in that there isn't much point. Could even slow things down. ReadyBoost doesn't involve read/write as with a hard disk though. It's more a "scratch pad" for the pagefile as I understand it. I guess the only real point in this is just for the sake of doing it. Shove that round peg into the square hole syndrome. :)
I tried a few mentioned from this site (http://www.grantgibson.co.uk/misc/readyboost/) but it's not accurate from my experience. I might try the cruzer at some point, heard the same thing about the titanium's too.

don't use that "hack"
those requirements are set to the minimum to see any improvements, lowering those req will not help anything

Crucial Gizmo Overwrite is allot better than cruzer
I use a 2GB Corsair Voyager GT. However, I see little improvement.
