Hi! I've tried the latest drivers for FreeBSD 6.1, including the beta drives, and they all fail to work on my nVidia GF GO 7300. They compile / install properly, but when it tries to bring up the X interface, I get this error:

nvidia0: NVRM: rm_init_adapter() failed!
nvidia0: <GeForce Go 7300> mem 0xfd000000-0xfdffffff,0xc0000000-0xcfffffff,0xfc000000-0xfcffffff irq 16 at device 0.0 on pci1

In my kdm-log, I get this also:

NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidia0 (Input/output error)

Any ideas?

I've had this problem before... It seems the splash / vesa kernel options cause issues with the nVidia drivers. Try disable all of them and recompile the kernel
