Looks like the Ultra will be a nice oc'er. Still not sufficient enough to justify a $1k price tag.
Awesome & looks sexy!!!!!!!!

Well, maybe not quite $999...

Nvidia has told OEMs that the MSRP of the Ultra is $829

Hmmm... From this page (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffabu.beareyes.com.cn%2F2% 2Flib%2F200705%2F02%2F20070502011.htm&langpair=zh%7Cen&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools) of that Chinese review:Due to improved transistor 8800ULTRA single card consumes 175W. Less than the 8800GTX 177W.Looks like it's at least a little more than a clockspeed change, anyway.

ya, its only one of many stories of the bravery that our men do on a daily basis in iraq and afghanistan that is over shadowed by the bad...
Is there a way to translate that page into English? Some kind of language pack that I don't have, maybe?
You need to download the simplified Chinese language pack.

Meh. Not too interesting IMO.
The performance increase is so small it'd barely even be worth the time to swap a GTX for an Ultra, let alone the cost.
Also, it looks like there are some pretty strong CPU limitations going on there too (in xbit's review).

Lol. $829 is still an almighty rip off. $650 will be alright I suppose.

too bad $800+ is ridiculous for a video card.
even $600 or $500 is insane....
for a 16 year old $400 is too much....
Why can't computer parts be cheaper? lol
I cant see Nvidia releasing an 'Ultra' now'unless its was on a smaller process. and had faster memory AND had more ROPS/Shaders/etc...

It sounds like the faster memory (and core/shader) clocks you speak of are true... Do you think the smaller process/more shaders, etc., will be there as well?
I guess we'll find out soon...
