Profiles are sticking for me this time. I have them set for FEARXP, Halo, UT2004 and Unreal 2 and they've stayed through alot of reboots/coldstarts.
I wonder if you they aren't working for have older driver bits left over? I go into C:/Windows/System32 and manually remove every driver file in safe mode before installing new.
I removed the driver from device manager before installing the new one. I don't notice any leftover device driver files.

The ones I remove are in the system32 folder.

If you hover over each one with the mouse it will tell you exactly if it's nvidia driver related or no.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems vista nv driver version tend to conflict with eachother more than xp's, if not all removed.
So what i do is remove driver through device manager like you> reboot to safe mode>cancel windows hardware detection>go to C:WINDOWS/system32 and remove these files>reboot and install new.
I've had zero trouble since doing it this way.
EDIT:! just noticed the "ntdvm64.dll" at the top of my screenshot.
This isn't a driver file..if you try this way, don't remove it!

After checking again I seem to have some old drivers but my problem is I also have a nforce mobo and I don't want to delete the wrong files. Any body know which drivers are only display drivers and which are mobo drivers??

Removed the old drivers I could identify they were all 100.65 and then reninstalled 158.24 still no saving of specific game profiles.:(

If someone creates a list and posts its here with all the entries to be deleted from the Sys32 folder I will fix a clicky program for it so all files will be deleted with one click :)

That would be oh so sweet!
The files in the screeny from 'nvapi64.dll' all the way to the 'nvwss.dll' and all inbetween are what I delete while in safe mode. I have had nothing but good results while doing this, however..I am not a dev or programmer of any type, so if anyone who is, and knows more about what can go, ought to go, please fill us in.
@stefan9 - I also have an nf4 mobo, and doing this hasn't caused any issues with my chipset drivers.
@FnFGoT - Still think you have one of the best user names on the forums lol!

Thats so strange.
Go to C:/windows/system32
In my screen shot you will see 2 .xml files.
nvapps.xml and nvwsapps.xml. They are the only 2 .xml files there.
right click each file and open properies, then click the security tab.
click 'edit' then select 'users'. check the box next to 'full control' under 'allow'.
You'll see exactly what I mean in there.
Apply and close out, profiles ought to stick now.

Since I'm not running Vista64 I don't know which files are installed. However, I can delete all files I see on the screenshot and on own installation. I already coded it a while ago since I noticed DriverCleaner didn't worked great with NVIDIA driver cleaning. I will create a new version to delete everything I see on this screenshot and what is installed on 158.24. Will update asap :)

Alright, I fixed an initial version of XDC. This deletes all the remaining files from NVIDIA Display Driver in the System32 folder.
Be aware that the proper procedure is to first remove NVIDIA Display Drivers using the NVIDIA Uninstaller, reboot, and then XDC. (Otherwise some files might not be deleted because they are in use by the OS)
If you notice an error or bug please write it down here or PM me.
I tested this on 158.24, other driver versions might have different files. If you come across different files from the NVIDIA Display Driver which are not deleted you can write down the filename here or PM me the filename and I will add it (But don't come with files from nForce chipsets for example. Be sure to check where it's from. I might add support for non-NVIDIA Display Driver's later).
I created a zip file with a rar file and sfx file inside, so you can select which one you want.

You da man!
It would be very nice if someone else could jump in and try also. I'm running around like a madman getting ready for a trip out of town..making the occasional stop at the 'puter.:p
Hey, maybe new forceware to try it on when I get back?!
anyone else get a stutter when alt tabbing back into cs:s?

Yep. Not sure if this has to do with the drivers though.

Anyone get crashes when watching videos? My entire system locks up when watching videos. I nailed it down to the drivers because Dreamscene would cause the drivers to fail.
Ntune doesn't seem to work with these. Just did a fresh install of Vista. The monitor loads up fine but I don't see any of the extra settings in the nv control panel.
