Hi Nvidia,

I wanted you to know that none of the drivers on Nvidia's site for the XFX 512mb 7950GT AGP (lee63) card install in their current form. Also the Nvidia website directs 7950GT owners to the older 97.13 drivers which don't work either.

A user on Nvidia's main forum has a very simple fix that allows the 158.19 drivers to install and work great, so you might want to add this to the 160.whatever future Nvidia drivers so the XFX 512mb AGP 7950 GT owners can download and install the latest drivers like everyone else. Here is the fix:

Under the two categories in the .inf just add:

[NVIDIA.Mfg]

%NVIDIA_BR02.DEV_02E4.1% = nv4_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_02E4

; Localizable Strings

NVIDIA_BR02.DEV_02E4.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT"

And you will solve an annoying driver problem for a number of Nvidia XFX 512mb 7950GT AGP and maybe even lowly PCI-e owners. :cool:

Maybe this should be in the Forceware Driver section :clap:

PS: I think NVIDIA know how to modify an inf file you know, they did make the whole damn driver set... They are doing it deliberately to make you upgrade.

Your email wont change a thing.

Well until now I thought I had the best AGP card I could get. I checked XFXforce.com and there is in fact a 7950 GT AGP card. This is the first time I've heard of it. My guess would be contact XFX for help with the drivers. Nvidia did not make the agp 7950 GT. XFX did. Being able to modify the inf should solve your problem but I can see how that could get annoying. I'd say tell your problem to XFX and get them to get Nvidia to add the AGP version of the 7950 GT to any future Forceware releases.

It's the nv4_disp.inf file, correct?

Does this work for the 256MB version also?
