I'm a recent buyer of a 8800 GTX and when I play any Nvidia demo's I get low fps for some reason, I don't know why.

When I run the Froggy demo, 9-16 fps through the whole thing.

Tried Mad Mod Mike and 30 fps when Mike isn't in the scene but 15 when he is.

Tried both in Vista and Windows xp and get more fps in vista with MMM demo.

Problem?

Opteron 165 overclocked 2.45ghz
8800 GTX
2x1gb pc3200

Thanks

Sounds about right.

I think you need a better processor to get higher FPS. The Froggy demo doesn't run all that well, but it looks damn good. The Mad Mod Mike demo maybe should be a tad bit faster, but not too much.

Nvidia demos are not designed to run at 100 fps.

They are designed to show off what the video card can do. And have no relevance to what performance you can expect in games.

Ahh alright, thanks.

Yes I know my processor is slowing me down, planing on getting a E6600 during summer.

Thanks.
