View Full Version : How much further should I push this? E6600 w/ Stock Cooler
So far I got this running to 3.2GHz with the stock cooler, full load it gets around to 64C, should I try pushing it more, and if so how much you think I can hit?

If you hit 64c full load. You have already gone too far.
Intel rates that cpu at 60.1c

60 really, cause not overclocked it hits 60c full load... I didn't even change the voltage. I swear I heard 75c.

Im sticking with 3.2Ghz till I get a new cooler. My temps are only around 55C or so on full load so its not bad. At stock settings Im running 35C. :o
Well I am going back to water once I order some tubing, and a new waterblock.

Ya... 65C is way to high. Id re-seat your HSF if it even hits 60C without an OC... expecially if your using the stock voltage.

I need to invest in water but the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme seems to preform just as good for 1/4th the price aswell as being much safer...

45C at 3.9Ghz on load is pretty dam good I think especially at the price difference when compared to water.

IDLE it is 35 - 37c so I'm not worried about it. During games it doesn't hit over 60, but during Prime95 it hits it.
Edit: Buying the Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme will actually cost me more.
A waterblock is like $50, tubing is less then $10.
I already have a pump, radiator, fan, and a danger den fillport.
