View Full Version : No CPU frequency scaling on nforce2 chipset

I run opensuse 10.2 which supports cpufreq scaling. I found several times in the internet that nforce2 supports this stuff!
A guy from gentoo forums said to load cpufreq_nforce2 module as long with some others too.
I did it and Kpowersave gives me precisly the correct speed of my CPU now but I still don't have dynamic frequency policy it's always full speed!!

I have an Athlon XP 2600+ and MSI k7n2 delta motherboard

Any help would really be apreciated!!

The BIOS of the motherboard must provide this support, and it must be enabled.

I checked my BIOS Power management settings and I have everything enabled...
Maybe if you know how this option in BIOS looks like... It's an AWARD BIOS...

Every BIOS is different, I wouldn't know what it looks like on yours.

You gave me a hint with BIOS settings so I 'll try to solve it from BIOS!!
