Go here, Tell people you want the feature.
E-mail them. They aren't going to add it unless people request it.

DV is nice, i leave mine set on 'low' high is just to "vibrant" i guess for me lol.

It's always something new with those Rage3D idiots (T2k). I don't think it would be unreasonable to add another slider that performs a function similar to DV. I've been sold on DV since my GeForce2 MX. While my ATI card has better default color saturation, adjusting this on my NVIDIA card makes my GeForce4 440 Go look more rich.
I've played with those settings that are supposedly in the ATI control panel and there's no way I can reproduce a setting that looks like my NVIDIA card. I've learned to live with it so far, but having a single slider is something I would like to have.

Aye, he did get flamed for no reason.
I see no problem adding it as an option. As long as it IS optional, as I HATE DV. But why not make everyone happy if possible.
BTW chrisray, USE ATI's feedback center on their website. There was a bug with 8500's and weather in Madden 2003 that didn't get fixed for a while, I started sending stuff to their feedback about christmas, and when Catalyst maker said it would be in the next drivers and we asked why it took so long, he mentioned that they didn't hear about the problem and the steps to reproduce it until december...right about the time I would send a message every couple days about the problem. It was fixed a few weeks after.

That's an amazing story. Just another example of how hard ATI is working to stay in tune with the consumers (that's us!).

I've had emails from ATI asking for info regarding submissions to the feedback form, so I know it works, and the problems were fixed. I even got a email to say that one was fixed in driver x, but the other wouldn't till the next.
Oh, and I stand by my comments regarding DV. ;)

Hrmm.
Digital Vibrance is simpy not necessary on ATi cards. The only people that seem to be looking for this feature are former nVidia users. As an ATi employeee himself explained, DV is nothing but a slider that applies preset color, brightness, and saturation levels.
I don't understand the people that say "Waaah, it just doesn't look like my nVidia card though." Well, that's because IT IS NOT an nVidia card. The sad fact is that ATi cards are known industry wide for their image quality (not quite to the levels of Matrox though, lol) and they have been able to do it without the feature known as "Digital Vibrance".
Btw, I have used the Digital Vibrance feature on my parent's pc, and to me it makes the colors look fake and unnatural. As of right now it is turned off. (and as I have noticed quite a few others keep this off or on it's lowest setting because of what I just complained about here)

I'd back You, unfortunatly My 9800 ain't out yet, and I've never owned ATI, so I don't know if what the ney sayers is true.
I'm still using DV with My GF3.

Mess around a bit guys. :)
I actually made the colours look better than anything on mine. I guess I prefer no green or red but a blue display. :)
RGB all set like this, I swear I love it more than anything. :)
Damn, shame I can't personally show you guys how it looks on my monitor. Colours are all so distinctive. :)

I simply cannot reproduce Digital Vibrance on my ATI card, I have adjusted gamma ect, Colors as well, But I "Cannot" find a saturation control other than for Overlay functions.
And I want the saturation more than anything.

Why do you think that would be? Because they have experienced something they really like?
"The only people that seem to be looking for this feature are former nVidia users"
I am a former nVidia user and used to use DV on my nVidia card, I got off it bfore I upgraded to my R300 though. It wasn't good after a while IMO.

Yeah, I don't care for DV either.
EDIT: Also, Digital Vibrance Control™ (http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=feature_dvc) (DVC) is a "patent pending innovation for controlling color separation and intensity".
Might be difficult for ATI to duplicate it without risking possible legal issues.

Yeah, but if ATI hauls butt, they could get something similar in before NVIDIA gets its patent. :p :D
While it would be nice to have, I'm not finding DV too terribly necessary for my 9500.

I didn't really believe the colors on my Samsung 172T/DVIR/9700PRO could get any more vibrant, but just for the kick I tried adjusting the RGB's the way you suggested. All I can say is, I'm impressed. Boy do the colors look great. Great tip there, never even thought of it before because the colors were so great anyway. Now they're even better :) I honestly didn't believe they could get any better

I have the same monitor and vid card. The monitor is awesome - best LCD I have ever used by miles. You're using the DVI port, right?
DV is an awful "feature" IMO, but if enough people want it and they can implement it fairly easily I see no reason why ATi shoudn't incorporate something similar.

Yes, I'm using the DVI. Awesome monitor. The combination of the R9700PRO and the Samsung TFT simply reproduces the best colours I've ever seen.

The thing is that the colours indeed look a bit better on many GF3/GF4 cards with some degree of digital vibrance enabled. For some reason the colours just aren't as sharp and crisp without dv. I wouldn't be able to argue whether this is a "good" or a "bad" feature though, all I know is it seems to make colours look slightly sharper on most Nvidia cards I've used.

I thought I liked DV back when I had a GF2MX and Quake 2 was as gray and drab as a rainy day but I just tried it recently on my GF3 Ti 200 and even on the low setting, the colors are oversaturated and look cheesy. If they had made the low setting into the highest setting with some settings in between it would have been much more useable. Show me someone who uses DV on anything but the low setting and I'll show you someone who did too much LSD in the '60s. :afro2:
Now I'm using a 9500Pro and the one thing I do miss from the Nvidia drivers is the contrast slider - now that was sweet! Made everything look crisp and vibrant.
And like mentioned above, does simply upping the R, G, and B channel output on ATI cards achieve the same thing as DV?

whatever someone says, like it or not,the truth is that the picture looks much more impressive with dv.and this not something that someone can achieve by manually moving and messing with the sliders...
so I think that ati should implement a similar feature to their drivers anyway...

I never liked the "burn your eyes out" neon colors that DV produced on my GF3. I guess people have different tastes. :)

People who like it(like you) will say it makes the picture more impressive. People who don't(like me)will fidget with their friends monitor for a half hour trying to fix the horrible image they're seeing on the monitor.
