Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3P (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2

or maybe

Team Elite 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 800MHz Dual Channel Kit

Are these good choices?

Also, I wanted this mobo because it has 1333 fsb so hopefully it'll support the newer intel cpus when they come out... but will putting in a 1066fsb cpu cause a problem or will it adjust the fsb accordingly?

well 965 chipset has official support for 1066 max, so i would assume what gigabyte did was some hardware mod, or they simply mean if you OC, it will support 1333fps.

go with OCZ memory, that rev2, i'm about 90% certain is uses Micron D9s memory chips, currently the best memory chips.

This is from gigabytes sales stuff about it:

"GIGABYTE Rev 3.3 P965 Series motherboards were designed to take full advantage of the blistering performance inherent in the new generation Intel Core™ 2 Duo processors featuring 1333MHz FSB.
As 1333MHz FSB is natively supported, no overclocking is need to unlock the performance benefits of these powerful processors."

Problem is, I don't see anywhere selling 1333mhz processors and I'm not sure what it would do when it sees a 1066fsb cpu.

I do like OCZ memory, I have 2gb of it in my current setup. I was only considering the Team Elite memory because I'd heard good things about them and they are slightly cheaper.

Those specs look pretty good to me.

Go with the OCZ, especially if they have Micron D9's on them.

Ah, just found this:

Specification:
Intel P965 chipset (Quad core , Core 2 Duo , Intel P4 Extreme , P4 D)
Supports 1333/1066/800/533Mhz FSB
Supports DDR2 800/677/533 memory

So I guess I can use any fsb cpu as long as its the right socket.

It should support both 1066 and 1333 fsb processors so no worries.

i still don't believe that, 965 is 1066 chipset, they might have implemented some automatic method to raise to 1333, but i would still consider that OC'ing.

After further research, you are right. In the smallest of small print it says that it supports 1333fsb cpus but it will overclock the system to that fsb.

I've just placed my order for the gigabyte board, the Q6600 and the ocz memory... I can't breathe... dunno if its the wait till Tuesday or the amount of money I've just spent that is causing the chest pain.
