I have tried to install the 4191 nvidia drivers on my PC.
I have a GeForce4 Titanium 4200 AGP 8x and i can't start X server on my Mandrake 9.
I have realized that my chipset is a SIS 648, so it's not supported by NVIDIA driver.
I have tried to include a line containing "options agpgart agp_try_unsupported=1" in my /etc/modules.conf file, but i still get errors:
NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize NVIDIA kernel module

What can i do if my chipset is unsupported?

Thanks all.

Take a look at your kernel logs. It's possible that the "cannot initialize" message isn't because your chipset is unsupported -- though it may be that.

What makes me think it isn't is that you aren't using the nVidia AGP driver, but you're getting an error from the nVidia drivers. So it doesn't have anything to do with AGP -- most likely. Check the kernel logs (dmesg, or /var/log/messages)
