XDC - Driver Cleaner

I created a Driver Cleaner. It started with grey_1 complaining about the leftovers in the System32 folder, and I created a cleaner for those files. But I also didn't liked the new Driver Cleaner Pro's, so I decided to improve the program.

Changelog (0.30) - 20-05-07:

1) Added Options in the menu to check what you want to clean.
(Eq NVIDIA File, NVIDIA Registry)
Now it isn't needed anymore to edit it in the ini file.
2) Rewritten all ini files code (again).
3) Changed the captions of the Select and Delete buttons to >> and <<.
4) Fixed a bug with ATi File cleaning if install path wasn't standard.
5) Updated NVIDIA File cleaning. There are a lot of new files added.
6) Rewritten all delete code.
7) Removed some unneeded code.
8) Added InstallShield cleaning to Creative File cleaning
(Thanks to adrichardson).
9) Fixed a bug in the progressbar, it did not work properly.
10) Updated the functions to get the System directories.
11) Added NVIDIA Chipset cleaning.

1) Added ATi Registry cleaning and improved ATi File cleaning.
2) Added a Menu to improve the layout.
3) Added Creative Registry cleaning and File cleaning.
4) Further optimalizations.
5) Changed the selectable names. Type is now included.
6) Rewritten the ini files code.
7) Ini file will now be saved when the program closes.
Now it isn't needed to delete the ini file after a program update.
8) Changed the maintitle of the program.

1) Bug fixed that no files from NVIDIA where deleted.

1) Log to check if your remaining files are deleted or not.
2) Ini file. You can change in here (1 <-> 0) if you want NVIDIA Registry cleaning and/or NVIDIA File cleaning. I decided to go for ini files because I want it to be a portable application too.
If no ini file exists, a new one will be created with both NVIDIA Registry cleaning and NVIDIA File cleaning on.
3) A lot of internal cleaning/fixes.
4) Completely rewritten the Registry cleaning (Not the values to be cleaned).
5) Added a new file to NVIDIA File cleaning.
6) Redone "About".

Please report all bugs/suggestions here, so I can improve the program.
If someone still has files left, write the filename(s) + path down here please, its easy to add ;) The same goes for registry entries ofcourse.
BTW, it should be XP compatible :) Haven't tested it yet.

I ran this to change from the 158.24 to 160.03. With both files=1 and registry=1 it's just cleaning the registry, not the xmls and others under system32.

files are all in.

My disclaimer again though, I'm not sure all of these have to be removed, I just know I'm suffering from none of the driver problems many others are are doing it this way.

The hilighted files in the screenie here are the ones I remove.

I checked everything tripple to ensure only stuff from NVIDIA Device Manager is deleted, so I assume not :)

Windows XP is also supported :) New version is going to be released tomorrow I think. It has Creative Sound cleaning and it also has an improved layout.

Does XDC have a Cab Cleaner function like DriverCleaner has? Or is this even needed in Vista now?

Alright, finally got time to test 0.2a.

Results were better, but...

Using Vista 64bit and going from the 160.03s to the 158.42s...

Registry keys were deleted properly and showed in the log file.

Only 4 of the driver files showed as removed in the log after running it twice, once with the registry cleaner set to '0', and the once with both registry and file cleaners set to '1'.

My bad, I thought the log would stay after a repet attempt, it didn't so I don't know which were removed.

Still, fantastic work and coming along fast. Nicely done!

Edit: Would be nice if this thread were stickied, this is a great tool for vista in the works here...

just curious, does the tool have to be updated manually to include each of the driver sets it's working with?

Nice to see that Vista x64 also works :)

Maybe I will fix something for a next version that you can save the log file. Still need to see when to implement it and how do it on a nice way ;)
