Can't get fan control to work in vista 64

Fan control is totally greyed out. How can I get it to work on my 8800gts. I have the latest version of ntune.

okay I am new to rivatuner.. is it safe to use in place of ntune? cause all I really want to do is control the fan and check the temp.

Yes, and putting it to 100% will cool it off a great deal.
