Hey guys, I just got my EVGA 8800 GTS last night (640mb) and installed it. Got the drivers setup, installed Ntune and had it detect optimal frequencies. After going through it's test it came up with 650 core and 896 memory! Now that was way beyond the stock numbers so I dialed it down to 560/830 and gamed for about 4 hours straight with no issues at all. I'm just curious what kind of numbers people are getting out of these cards?

Thanks

My GPU craps out at 616mhz but useing ati-tool its either 610/900 or 605/975
In 3dmark performance is the same

Mine is a 320MB, but thecore is the same... I reach through ATiTool 634/958

I can get my GTS to 630MHz on the clock core, any higher than this and i get artifacts on 3dmark06! .... ive had the memory at 1000MHz(2.0GHz) but i didnt wanna push the memory any higher! .... i have my card at 625MHz clock core, 1458MHz shader clock & 1.8GHz on the memory, ive ran 3dmark06 both at these settings and also at 630MHz clock core & 2.0GHz on the memory and there wasent really a big enough performance increase for me to want to leave it like that, 2.0GHz on the memory it alittle to high for my liking!

625MHz clock core, 1458MHz shader clock & 1.8GHz memory, 51c idle & 62c max load! :D

Thats with the BIOS flashed to a (KO.ACS³) version and also flashed overclocked.

Mine is around 630-640 core, 1800 memory.

I have successfully ran 3d mark 06 and gamed at 650 core. I only overclock to play Oblivion as there is no need for any other game. Haven't played oblivion in a couple months, tried the other day at 650 again and my comp rebooted. Dunno if it was actually the video card or not.

I think the most my memory can do is 925. 900 is perfectly stable.

Mine tops out at 580 on the core and 1900 on the memory. Its a Leadtek.

612/1458/2016 speeds here 24/7 run the fan 80% when it's cooler and 100% when temps get over 80F outside. Runs like a banshee in heat and plays all my games 1600x1200 4xaa and 16AF. Love EVGA and I will def be adding another one when the prices drop.

3DMARK01 = 29,083
3DMARK03 = 30,109
3DMARK05 = 11,810
3DMARK06 = 6,325

600/1800, 24/07. Can do 620/2000 but it start's artifacting after a few hours.
Stock cooling, no v-mods
I use Experttool

I have two Evga 640mb 8800GTS that I run in SLI and they will do 650/1512/2000 with no artifacts with ATITOOL in my benchmarks ,But I keep them at 621/1458/1800.

My card was already factory overclocked to 575/1700, it's already running pretty hot with the stock cooler so I don't feel like taking it much higher without replacing the HSF. But it runs fine, without problems.

I got a EVGA 640 too and it does 640/2050ish easy. I didn`t dare to up the memory higher yet but it might go even higher! If i put the core up one notch the system crashes but my 12v Rail is dying too so i am not sure if it is the PSU or the card.
8800 GTS are definatly OC beasts. This is with the stockcooler too btw.
It`s the memory that impressed me most considering this is still GDDR3.

Mine is at 650/950. I've got the eVGA ACS3 version of the 640MB card.

I just put it @ 600(594)/2000MHz from first try and it worked (Gainward, 1.1ns memory).Problem is it's getting a bit hot, 82C under load, mainly because it can't get enough air due to the PCI tvtuner installed next to it.
I'm looking to buy a kworld PCI-E x1 tuner to free up that PCI slot :)

You're wasting your time with 3Dmark06 IMHO. I've found it to be more of a CPU benchmark than a GPU benchmark. My 8800 GTS 640MB OC's like a mother, but it doesn't really increase my 06 marks enough to warrant pushing the card. Now on the otherhand, when I OC my CPU my 06 marks go will substantionaly. I've reached 10000 w/ my CPU OC'd to 3GHz and my GTS OC'd to 620/1000. :D Without my CPU OC'd, my score stays in the low 9000's even with the GPU OC.

Too many people put too much emphasis on 3Dmark06 scores. I play all current games maxed out all settings w/ AA and AF at stock speeds....so why bother.

Now when the next round of games are relaesed, then I'll OC only if needed to maintain max settings. The 8800's series are top notch cards...period. This is coming from a long time ATI fan!

my 2 cents.....

Yeah, I agree. My games play well, why should I care about some number 3DMark spits out at me? It's not like I sit around running benchmarks all day long. Ok, some people bench as a hobby, but I don't.

3dmark is only good for one thing. Run your system through and see if the system is where it should be. You can rule out a bad driver pretty quick like that.

If the system runs well there is no need for benchmarking i agree.500 points more or less don't mean anything when it's about playing games.

HAving 10k in the 06 3dmark shows me that everything is fine with my rig wich is good because i don't wanna game with a rig that is running at less speed then it could.

I get a stable 655/1050 from mine, but that's really on the limit, any higher and artifacts appear. But there really isn't any point in OCing as yet cos an 8800GTS in SLI will play any current game maxed out so I run the standard clocks.
I was running 620/950 with a single card with 42fps min, 192fps max in fear with all settings maxed and 1650 x 1080 res. I get 64fps min and 299fps max with no OCing in SLI. Runs perfectly with Vsync on.
I just got 2 to make sure I could play Crysis and Bioshock maxed (hopefully) when they come out. :p

I wouldent like to push my card that high and i have a aftermarket cooler ... you would see most people clock there 8800GTS's to around 600MHz clock core, 1458MHz shader clock and 1.8GHz - 1.9GHz on the memory!

You are right! For gaming i often dont care about ocing, just for benchmarking.
I read a lot about ocing in this forum, rivatuner & co, max temps and tried to use this knowledge, with success:) !

really good forum!
