I personally can't believe how memory intensive Joost is... makes me actually NEED an extra gig...

Also, it barely runs decent on a 2.5mbit down/512k up connection... not that I'm perfectly optimized... I do use opendns, but that's about the only connection performance enhancement I use.

How's Joost running on your rig?

Doesn't work in Vista, can you believe that. LOL

Gives you a tick list and it fails the "Have you got Windows XP" test.

Interesting.

Joost AND my hauppauge 1600 hybrid tv tuner running.

Plus my cpu folding client AND my gpu folding client are running. The majority of my memory usage is from the gpu folding client. But then I do have 2 GB. I personally cannot stand any system with less for what I use my system for. Kick it up to 2 GB rage and you should be fine m8.

I'd love to try this Joost out
Could someone either email or pm me an invite?

Sent.

Don't mind the gay text in the invite, it's the default crap that joost sticks in there.

I recall the name, but not what it is...

Care to joggle my memory?

I didn't really care for Joost, it's all UK programing. I haven't reinstalled it since my last format a couple of weeks ago.

I don't what you guys are talking about. Joost runs fine for me on Vista and doesn't seem to be that much of a memory hog. I don't like it much anyway so hardly use it but when I did seemed all good.

I used it for about 10 minutes...it took forever for it to get connected and when it finally did, there wasn't a single thing I wanted to watch. Plus, it took up almost 1GB of memory. No thanks...I'll just watch TV.

maybe it all depends on what version you played with.

Weird, I'm using it fine in Vista Ultimate. *shrugs* It actually works pretty well off of my cable connection. I get the occasional lag or freeze then its back up in a second or 2.

pretty happy with it so far.

There's tons of channels, about 60 or 70 and there's some cool stuff :)

Maybe I just like old school programming.
