Great review, Brian! I'm playing with one of these right now and I've got to say I'm quite impressed with the power these cards offer! Have you had any issues with yours locking up randomly (but always doing it eventually) in Windows on the desktop and in games?

I started a thread here (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=91863) and was trying to get any sort of feedback from others using an 8600-based card.

I have not been having problems with random freezes in windows. In games, the only freezes I've had were with some older games, most notably Quake 4 and Half Life 2, but those were only with heavy overclocking. I had the same problems with my MSI 7600GT's, but overclocking those would cause all kinds of freezing. I attributed that to the MSI drivers that were installed, which didn't get uninstalled properly, and were causing issues with the MSI 8600GTS until I removed the drivers properly. The drivers had to do with the control panels for D.O.T. and Vivid, proprietary MSI stuff.

After having the card in about a month, it has been very stable for me unless I'm doing hefty overclocking.
