Lucky? Gibson is coming into his own...and yes...Lebron James is definitely the focal point, but without Gibson's assists/shots, the series would be over. Period.
Gooden is a Joke, and as soon as they get rid of Ilgaskis, the cavs will be a BETTER team.
I think I disagree with every word you just said. Do you even watch the Cavs play? Or just the past few games? Cavs have been my number 1 team since Lebron. Any chance I get, I watch them. Ilgaskis and Gooden have come a LONG way. Other than Lebron, they have been the two best players on the Cavs throughout the entire playoff series.
Gibson on the other hand just happened to have a good night. Most of the time his status is simply "meh". "without his assists/shots, the series would be over. period". :rofl I don't think I've ever seen Gibson make more than a handful of assists.... ever. He is a good shooter, and will be good asset to the team in the future. Right now he is a rookie and not even a good rookie at that. If Gibson were to somehow get injured and not be able to play, I am absolutely positive the Cavs would be un-phased.
I'm guessing you have just started to watch the Cavs play and have no idea of previous games, that is where your assumptions are coming from. Thats ok, its understandable. Your assumptions are perfect for anyone who has only seen the Cavs play 2 or 3 times. I'm sure as you watch more, your opinion will drastically change. ;)

Cavs has been my #1 team since the Mark Price/Steve Kerr days. I've watched the Cavs for a long time. I lived in Cleveland for 25 years, so I'm a big fan of Cleveland pro teams.
As for Gooden and the Big Z: Gooden is not a good player. He should have been traded during the mid season. I was really hoping that Carter could have been woo'ed into coming to Cleveland. Ilgaskis is not aggressive enough to be a big threat. Not only that, he's starting to show his age on the floor--no rebounding ability whatsoever.

Ok...maybe I was exagerrating a bit, but you got to admit that he was a real good cog in the key win last night.

You guessed wrong.

Gooden is not a good player.
So... 12 points and 9 rebounds a game is not good? :wtf:
Ilgaskis is not aggressive enough to be a big threat. Not only that, he's starting to show his age on the floor--no rebounding ability whatsoever.
9.4 rebounds a game equals "no rebounding ability" :wtf:
You guessed wrong.
Well, it was an educated guess. You think Daniel Gibson is god's gift to the Cavs. You said "without Gibson's assists/shots, the series would be over. Period." Throughout the Playoffs Daniel Gibson has a grand total of 5.7 points per game and 0.6 assists per game. This is the guy who is saving the Cavs? Right?
Yea, I'd say I made an educated guess. :)

I think by you saying a "bit" is a stretch itself. Gibson did help a bit for the past two games though. Two games do not = a good player.
DD, I have to disagree m8.
Gooden is a GOOD player. People expect more but he is hard-nosed player with good ability.
Ilgauskus is also a good player, one of the best centers in the league. He has won the Cavs a few games with his outside shooting this season alone brother.
Gibson is a developing player and has played solid this series but, he is a developing player.
Remember Bonzi last years playoffs? Exactly :)
Lebron has done well but he needs to work on his game, polish up the mid-range like Wade and Kobe have done. Then he'll be unstoppable :D

Saz and woody,
I respect both of your takes on them.
Gooden and Ilgaskis both have made the Cavs a good team. But in order for them to be a great team, they are going to need someone else. Those are similar words to what Charles Barkley said (I don't agree with most of what Charles say, but on this I do).
Daniel Gibson is a developing player. My point about him is that him and Lebron are two people that you need to build the team around. Kenny said Sunday how Daniel Gibson will be a Chauncey Billups in 2 years. I agree with that also.

I really hope Charles Barkley isn't predicting the Cavs to win the series. Every single team Charles Barkley picks to win always ends up losing :(
I do agree that Gibson will be good in a few years. I don't know about being at the standard of Billups in 2 years, but maybe in 5 or so it could be possible. Billups is a damn good player.

Hell yea he was. Last night was hands down the BEST game of the playoffs. Lebron's performance just reinforces my belief he is the best player in the league all around.
MVP of the Playoffs = Lebron James
Runner up = Tim Duncan
imo at least...
realistically Tim Duncan will win MVP of the playoffs.
I still can't believe the Cavs are playing so well against the Piston's. I thought for sure it would be a slaughterhouse. :o

There is no "MVP of the playoffs" award, there's only the Final's MVP and if the Cavs and Spurs meet for the championship the winner of the award will be the one who leads his team to the championship. Obviously no one other than James can win it on the Cavs, but perhaps Parker or Manu can win it if the Spurs win.....Duncan won the other three in which he participated in.

Why not? They pushed them to seven last year in LeBron's first playoff run and they've outplayed Detroit this whole series. As Golden State proved, it's all about matchups and the Cavs match up very well against both the Pistons and Spurs. I'm not too sure they can beat the Spurs, but after last night's game I wouldn't bet against it.

So the finals should be wrapped up by early September, right?

I wish! That way there'd be no wait between the NBA playoffs and the NFL season. :)
Yeah...wow, a great game and an unbelievable performance by LeBron. Pretty amazing stuff especially how the Pistons seem to fall apart at the end. Guess experience only goes so far.

Yea, I don't know why I called it MVP of playoffs... You're right. :o
