I currently have BFG 6800 GT 256 AGP

it is being RMA'ed but was thinking in meantime to buy a better AGP card if possible

I lost track what all the cards do and which are better with all the different codes GS, GT and so on

Are there any better AGP cards out right now better then 6800GT? I dont want to get an AGP card that performs less

Eventually I will upgrade my machine probably end of year/early next year I jsut need something to hold me over so can play EQ2/LOTRO

thanks

I believe there is a 7900gs now.I know for a fact that there is a 7800gs.Both cards will outperform a 6800gt.

If you really want to stick with AGP and want to get a top of the line card, Sapphire said they should be selling a HD 2900 AGP card soon.

380? if its a good quality psu, you should be okay.

Another card to consider are the agp flavor of the x1950pro.. That card is extremely power hungry though.

Something to consider, if you make the jump to PCIe, the PCIe versions of these cards are sometimes cheaper.

When you hit the $200 range, you are getting within striking distance of a 8800gts 320...

thanks all for suggestions i am on the fence becuase starting to think i actually have a bad antec 380 power supply as well.

Maybe that is what caused my problems to begin then fried the vid card not sure, ever see a bad power supply cause artificating?

if bfg sends me back a new 6800 gt, then maybe worth it to just buy a new PS, and wait it out till i am ready to go with a new system

otherwise probably not worth putting any money into this now that i think about it
