A new demo (http://unigine.com/download/), which is based on forthcoming Unigine v0.4 engine (http://unigine.com/products/unigine_v0.4/), is available. It works either on Windows and Linux. There is a benchmark in the demo, which can be used to compare performance in Direct3D9 and OpenGL.

Features:
* Up to 500k polygones per frame
* 5 dynamic lights
* HDR rendering
* Parallax occlusion mapping
* Ambient occlusion mapping
* Translucence
* Volumetric light and fog
* Glow
* Particle systems
* Postprocessing: motion blur, radial blur, depth of field, color correction, Sobel filter, refraction, stereo mode (stereo glasses required)

Doesn't work properly for me.

I set 8xAA but it only benched in 4xAA.

And I can't set 1280x1024 in direct3d, it freezes my computer.

I can set it in open gl though.

Hmm, strange. However we haven't tested it with G80 properly since we haven't one :(

my AA is set to 4x but it downgrades to 2x when i bench also...

Some guys made massive benchmarking by this demo, including G80 and R600 (German forum):

We are happy that SLI mode on 8800GTX provides 2x boost, it's a great hardware: http://pictransfer.de/uploads/jo13be6ddf1JPG.jpg

Wow, that's very impressive. I get a average FPS of 42 running at 1920x1080 4xAA All settings enabled. Is there a way to get 1920x1200? It's not in the list of resolutions...And I'm also having the issue where it runs the benchmark at a lower AA than I set in the settings (i have 8x set)

Modify sanctuary_direct3d9_fullscreen_1024x768.bat:
instead of
-video_mode 2
use
-video_mode -1 -video_width 1920 -video_height 1200

Regarding AA settings it looks like a bug on G80, we'll try to figure out why is it so.

That's strange, I wonder why my score is so much higher, I think it uses both cores.

Yeah this demo has some good multicore optimizations. I'm gonna try it today on the quad core to see if it works well with 4 cores.

We've made minor update of the demo: fixed AA mode displaying and Vista detection. Benchmarking results will stay the same anyway.

Sounds like you work there Den. First I think the demo is awesome. How did you guys do the Stereo mode and can it be made to work with shutter glasses?

Got a score of 3775 at default settings, stock clocks and 1280x1024. The driver is still 165.01 and I also saw quite often a driver related BSOD with both rendering paths. Nice demo! :thumbsup:

Our stereo mode is a kind of cheating :) It uses different color channels for different eyes (Anaglyph image) since shutter glasses are based on time-divided frames, so our demo is incompatible with shutter glasses (however it's rather easy to add such mode).
Anaglyph glasses are cheaper and more widely spread than shutter ones, so we decided to implement only Anaglyph image mode.

Sweet! AA reported at the end of the benchmark is the same as the one choosen :thumbsup: good work.

I get 37.9 FPS and a score of 803 running it at 1920x1200 8xAA 16xAF Everything maxed except DOF and motion blur set to off.

Why are most of you guys benching this thing at 1024x768 resolution?

Here's my run @ 1680x1050, everything maxed. Fireballs disabled because they increase performance if enabled. Conroe is at stock speeds (2.4GHz):

My bench.

I had to bench it @ 1024x768 because my comptuer hard locks whenever I try to change the resolution. It really sucks. Does anyone know a fix to this? :(

(No fireballs)

I wish I could set the resolution higher. ;)

Sanctuary Demo for me, click the pics and load for full details-

Vista x64, CPU stock GTX 652|2054 @ 1024x with all on 4xAA|16xAF = 124.9FPS

http://m1.freeshare.us/149fs910881_th.jpg (http://m1.freeshare.us/view/?149fs910881.jpg)

Vista x64, CPU stock GTX 652|2054 @ 1680x with all on 4xAA|16xAF = 68FPS

http://m1.freeshare.us/149fs91096_th.jpg (http://m1.freeshare.us/view/?149fs91096.jpg)

1680x as bench one conditions save DOF and motion blur off = 96.2FPS

http://m1.freeshare.us/149fs922999_th.jpg (http://m1.freeshare.us/view/?149fs922999.jpg)

Overclocking my CPU adds a whole 3FPS to the 1024x bench :p It rises to 128FPS. I should note fireballs were off for all tests I ran. EDIT: I went back and tried the GTX at flat stock, Vista x64 1680x all enabled no fireballs 4xAA|16xAF = 56.3FPS.

I loved playing with the physics demonstration of the last version, and thanks to GNU/Linux version, I can't wait to get back from work and try this one out. While the engine seems to be technically in quite good shape, the screenshots on the official site look a little plain in detail and especially textures. Thanks to their size, thumbnails look promising though.

Grabbin' it now. I'll report back when finished.

Edit; Update:

0.40 seems to be considerably slower than 0.33 IIRC. It could be the new features -- I really can't remember. Also, it appears the rendering engine runs in a single thread. Will the physics, scripting engine, sounds, or AI be run on another thread? Will the engine compile as 64-bit version? Any plans on releasing one for GNU/Linux?
