Guess the topic's title pretty much explain my problem! I get at most 2200 FPS when running glxgears.
CPU: AMD64 3500+
RAM: 1 Gb (2x 512Mb)
Video: GeForce FX5500 256Mb (128-bit)
MoBo: ASUS A8V
any hints? thanks in advance!

I keep the card if it's that fast:D ......but in all seriousness that card is a bad performer.Move up to the 6xxx series or 7xxx series cards.

Here are a few reference values from old gear :-) :
P4 3.0 with FX 5200/64: wildly varying with values from 760 - 1440 (75% @
the higher value)
XP 1900+ with FX 5700Ultra/256: 4340 - 4660 50% in 43xx / 50% in 46xx
same gear 2nd run: 4990 - 5040 50% below / 50% above 5000
...and here's some newer gear:
A64 X2 4600+ with FX 7600GS/256: 3720 - 3740
So, what does this tell us?
glxgears is no benchmarking tool.
Btw: driver 100.14.3 with Suse 10.1 / 10.2 (the X2 is 10.2)
