Printer woes Vista. [Archive]

Okay here's the deal. I got an old HP Deskjet 3320, which I want to install on Vista, which is no problem, I just followed this guide, which said I could use the 3500 driver with a bit of fiddling and it works fine. Okay no problem, got it going, got it printing.

But here's the problem, I want this printer hooked up to the PC (XP SP2) downstairs, like it had always been. I can see the printer just fine. But if I add the printer, it doesn't have a driver and complains, now I've tried to load the .inf from my pc in the 3500 setup folder, but no go.

Now I'm kind of out of ideas, does anyone have an idea that I can try? :)

Pray for new drivers, about the only thing I could suggest.

this is the same problem with canon drivers.

when a printer is installed and shared from vista, some printers/users have either very hard time to install that printer on xp later.

in my case with canon pixma ip5000. i had to install vista drivers on xp, and it works fine.

Does that work the other way around too? Install the vista drivers on XP so Vista can see the printer? I might try that then.
