I upgraded from the x850xt to the 8800gtx recently, and everything is maxed through ntune....but the video quality (like youtube) is worse than the ati card was!

Odd, not experiencing this problem, however I don't think you should come to conclusions just yet, Youtube's video quality is crap anyways.

Yeah... That's BS. There's something wrong with your system. I upgraded from a 6800 GT, and the 8800 GTX is superior in every way to my 6800 GT. I've seen similar Radeon cards on a regular basis, and if there is a difference in image or video quality, the 8800 GTX wins every time.

You can call all the BS you want, i dont care. Youtube's videos did look better with the ATI. Everything else looks 1000 times better with the G80, just not Youtube.

I owned a X850 PRO and now a GTS can't see the decrease in quality if at all, I can see is increase in performance and quality.

Possibly a video codec problem?

youtube uses flash, see if you have the newest one installed, and check your sync times/ and any non native resolutions. youtube looks the same on my sis 440mx as it does on my 8800gtx. the vid is still crap no matter which way you smell it:)

what display do you have? Nvidia has driver issues with detecting a displays correct IRE level (most people dont even know what that is, so few complain) Often it will think LCD's are running at a 16-235 scale when they should be on PC levels (0-255)

Do the vids look under saturated and very grayish (no true black)?

mostly mine dont work and ask for a reinstall of flash, which i do, and it asks again and again

The flash player doesn't even use hardware decoding for video. It's very inefficient for both spark and VP6. Go ahead and find a site that stretches flash video and watch your CPU get pegged.

Therefore it shouldn't look any different regardless of what video hardware you have, UNLESS somehow ATI drivers are detecting when flash video is playing and doing some sort of filtering on the video and nVidia drivers are not.

 These forums crack me up sometimes.

For the record, I have a X1900 XT flashed to XTX in my other rig and still own a Powercolor X800 XL.

LMFAO :lol2:

OP: You can't do much with a crappy bit rate to begin with. :) Video card has really nothing to do with encoding..

But they do have with decoding.

If ATI does something good with FLASH videos I'd love to see a screenshot. And maybe some community demand to get it on geforce cards too. On high-end TVs there are extremely advanced sampling, deblocking, deinterlacing and motion-compensation tech, and as I watch a lot of youtube I wouldn't mind that.

Especially motion compensation in Rise og Legends, moves are very jerky in 85hz.

edit: calmed down a bit

I bet you have vista x64 which uses a 64bit IE for browsing. A lot of web sites aren't set up to handle 64 bits and adobe hasn't come up with a 64 bit player yet.
