I bought and paid for Nero 6, I like Nero, easy to use and gets the job done. Nero 6 wont work with Vista no matter what upgrades I apply so, I take it I'm looking at having to go out and buy Nero 7 if I want to use Nero with Vista?? I really don't want to buy another one, I don't use it that often. Basically just for the software I get from MSDNAA for school. So, if my only Nero option is to go spend money on yet another version, is there any free burning software available out there.

Note: Nero 6 works great, update my OS and I have to spend more money just to get the same thing I already paid for?..... and people wonder why piracy is so rampant. Thats like getting a new car and the dealership telling you "Nope, gotta have a specific type of radio for this one, that perfectly fine radio you have there that you like so much just isn't gonna work."

Use CloneDVD and IMG Burn myself these days, fed up with the amount of rubbish Nero installs.

I got 7XXXX as a free upgrade from the site, works fine on 64bit vista and didn't pay a dime.

This upgraded my version 6 that came with my liteon dvd burner, you just need the disc.

I tried that and all I got was a trial edition that wouldn't accept my license...said It was for Nero 6 and that I had to buy another one for Nero 7

ISorry I took so long to reply..work. :p

I had to download the 7.8.5.0 update..around 185mb and install that as a trial. During the installation it gave me an option to either enter a license key or insert cd and hasn't given a bit of trouble.

It's up to the 7.9.6.0 now, but I just finished updating that also, no problems.

Hope this helps somewhat...
