View Full Version : AGP card for a Micro ATX... What to choose?
I'm have just bought a micro ATX motherboard (ASUS P5VDC-MX (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330124810527&rd=1&rd=1)) and I need to buy a graphics card for it. What would be the best buy considering I want at least 256mb graphics memory? Would an Nvidia AGP 7300T GEforce card (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120122090592&rd=1&rd=1)be a good choice? Also, would it be compatible and would it fit. I provided links to pages for both the card and motherboard. Please post back your opinion! Thanks!
sincerely,

Yeah if you aren't going to game on it, it's quite a good choice

You're going to have to give us the specs of your new computer so we know what we're working with here. The highest AGP card you can get is a 7950 GT, but if you're running on a P4 2.0Ghz machine, that's not going to do you much good. ;)

Specs are:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz E6420 CPU
2x 512MB DDR2 667MHz RAM
ASUS P5VDC-MX Motherboard
160gb hdd

How bout a Radeon X1950 PRO IceQ 3 Turbo??
I want to be able to play games like X3, Flight Sim X, C&C3 and other high performance games. I wanna be able to play without lag and with at least reasonable graphics.

I say get the 7950 GT, if your PSU is up to the task.
BTW, what kind of Power supply are you using?
What power supply do you suggest since it is still open to change. ie this computer is not constructed yet in fact the mb, ram and cpu are the only things purchased so far

Well, PC Power & Cooling is the best PSU on the market, but you pay for that luxury. A good OCZ PSU should be good. I'd say 500-watts should be sufficient for a Micro ATX setup. ;)
