Was going to add this to the other modem thread (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=92272), but decided to create my own...

I'm having too many disconnections from the internet. I think I've nailed to problem down to my SafeCom modem (embarrassingly, I can't locate the model name, what's more, it's been discontinued looking at the product website :o).

In order for me to reconnect, I have to power off the modem for a good 5 minutes, let it cool down (?), then power up again. Right as rain.

Time for modem replacement? Or am I missing something else?

is it disconnecting when using p2p or everyday websurfing. if its the later i would replace the modem...
