This is entirely too freaky and morbid.
Background - for our newspaper, we put in a variety of local area reactions to the war in Iraq. One of those stories was a profile of a local anti-war organization. In the story we ran a photo of a mother and daughter holding up signs, protesting on a sidewalk.
After our deadline, one of my fellow reporters learned that the daughter in the photo commited suicide and it was too late for us to pull the photo. So the photo that's running in our paper is the last one of the mother and daughter alive together.
Apparently the girl killed herself about 12 hours after the photo was taken. I mean, this wasn't our fault because we didn't know until after we had gone to press. But it's still eerie and sad. :(
