Nice scores, Obie. :) What do you have your XT clocked at?
900/910 on water.

Very nice. Volt-mod or stock?

Try turning your shaders up to high if you want to see the full potential of that demo.
This makes no sense, the score went up?? Clocks are the same as before I just upp'd the settings like you said. Is there something funky going on with the program? Something else??

That's strange.. I'm not sure. I'll bench mine w/ medium shaders later on today and see what happens to my score.
900 on the core and stock.. NICE. Mine wouldn't go quite that high. I bet you're like me and can't wait for Wizzard to release his new ATI Tool. I need more voltage.

Actually, I have been pretty happy with the results so far. I am not sure what HIS did but it's obvious you can OC higher then with most others.

Yeah I've been happy with mine too, I'm just anxious to see how much higher I can push the core.
If you're looking for some good games to test, the card runs DIRT(high settings), Lost Planet, Test Drive, and Rainbow Six really well. Oblivion runs really well on the 8.37.4.2s but not so much the new drivers.

Thanks for the heads up. I will look into that. However, I already tried Lost Planet and for whatever reason I cannot enable AA. Some sort of game bug. I tired DIRT (I really like that demo). There is one nagging problem that I hope gets fixed. Running Shadows at Ultra brings the game to a crawl. I believe this to be a driver bug of some sort as I am able to run everything else at HIGH/Ultra with no problem.

Okay so I don't know which reviews to trust.
Obviously in this thread the XT has been holding its own, sometimes beating out GTS, right?
HardOCP said the card wasn't great, http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTM0MSwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==
and other sources http://www.techspot.com/review/52-asus-radeon-hd-2900xt/ say it is better across the board.

Well most of the stuff here has been with newer drivers.

Got my new ram today and tested it vs the same settings as my last try .
Cpu & card stock.TMS disabled.Ram currently running at 800mhz 5-5-5-15 (1]
Avg FPS up by 2 compared to the 533mhz ram i had before.Havent been able to run them at their rated 1066mhz,wont boot then and theyre still at default asus voltage 1.85v.Tried 2.1 but then i had a BSOD.SLI memory is detected but not enabled as that also fails to boot,i really love the 680i chipset. These sticks are designed for this chipset but still wont run at their suggested settings:thumbdwn: Well atleast its better than before, still annoying though.

Tighten those ram timings up.

Tighten those ram timings up.
Edited my previous post slightly, theyre at their rated timings now, atleast 1066mhz timings and seem kinda finicky with changes. Also im not very informed about Ram timings so i need to educated myself there.

I'd say 8800GTS > HD2900XT > 8800GTX > 8800 Utra > 8800 Ultra XXX
To the ATI fanboys who want to reply and say the 2900XT totally p00nz0rz0mgwtfbbqroflcopter owns the 8800GTX, it doesn't in RAW power the 2900XT doesn't even come close, if you don't know how to calculate, then learn or stfu

Uh oh, that didn't take long. Someone posts a benchmark w/ the 2900XT giving the GTX a run for its money, and the hypersensitive GeForce Bandit here gets his panties in a wad and has to pi$$ all over it.
And can I ask you why you're listing the "Ultra XXX" card in that food chain of yours which is simply just an overclocked Ultra? Just to make the 2900XT look more inferior, right (since you're not allowing an overclock on the 2900XT)?
Wait, let me recalculate the chart with the "Xion XXX XT edition":
8800GTS > 8800GTX/2900XT Xion XXX XT edition (925|975) > 8800 Ultra
Wow, that was easy.
Some people...
Xion, sorry if you already posted this, but how is your performance in Test Drive Unlimited?
What resolution/Filtering can you run it at>?

I don't have it yet, man. I ordered it through the mail and should have it by tomorrow. I'll post some benches when I get it.

Dfine really well for Lost Planet and your settings given the numbers that were shown across the web where it could barely muster 25fps.

I ran it in DX9 (and if you want to check out my #'s / settings, then see below where I benched it). The benches you're talking about were ran w/ DX10, and ATI has said that they're working on the problem w/ the DX10 rendering path.
But the DX9 version runs very well on the 2900XT:

Anyone has some ram-timing tips? Dunno if i should just leave them as they are,im a little peaved that i cant boot if i enable sli memory wich is detected or that they wont run at 1066 wich they might since they do on the striker.Same pcb/chipset so i would think they should do the same on my board.

Try running them at 4-4-4-12 and see if you're stable. If so, then you can keep tightening those timings up little by little until you hit your wall. If not, then just stay where you are.

SLI memory is a joke. Disable that ASAP. You want to sync your memory so that it is running exactly twice your FSB. Tighten(lower) the latencies as much as possible.

4-4-4-12 1t or 2t ?

Thought that was mainly to get o/c stability ? And yea sli ram is disabled,it wont boot with it enabled.Need i worry about the ram voltage ? Not sure how much they need at 800mhz but at 1066 they need 2.3v according to ocz.I'm using what the board set them to atm wich is 1.85v.2.1v bluescreened and 1066 fails to boot, doesnt even beep.

No way in hell they "need" 2.3vdimm. even at 1066.
At 800, you can get away with as low as 1.8.
why are you worrying about what to set your ram to? are you unstable?
just set it to sync and forget about it
