Been there done that myself, my NB went from scorching hot to just barely warm to the touch after adding the fan but guess what? it didnt do jack **** for stability which pissed me off even more because it was just another stupid thing with this board that made no sense.
Yea i did the same,i have a 5000 rpm 40mm fan there, didnt do jack **** more than lower the temp a little,i cant even bump the voltage up more than 1.35 without it getting unstable(pos).Gotta love the thermalright though, its living up to expectations  Ambient temps are around 20 c atm.
Since i wont be overclocking more in this board, not more than this i would love it if the ram ran closer to its 1066 speed but for some reason it wont eventhough it was designed for this chipset apparently.

The best board out there (arguably) is the P5W DH Deluxe. If you want anything else I would wait for the X38 boards to come out.

Ok, back intot eh spirit of this discussion: more screenies. This time flat out is the game, max in game settings(which there isn't alot to change), 16xAF and 16xTMSAA, 1680x1050, and yes, my fps is pegged thru out at 100fps on all tracks.

What happened to GRAW 2? I thought Xion was going to bench that.
Looks like I could play "Flat Out" on my old X800XL.

FlatOut will play relatively well on a GF4 MX440, details turned down a bit from my current settings, but it will play. Brother installed it on a P4 2.4(400) with a GF3 Ti200 runnin it. Max setting in game ran fine but got choppy in some spots.

Yeah it's too bad so many games are crappy ports or poorly coded. When a game comes along that is well coded it's a treat.

Driver issues. CCC has disappeared on the 8.37.4.2s and I've been trying to find a way to fix it. Unfortunately, ATI Tray Tools isn't an option, either, because AA/AF doesn't take with it.
So right now I can't change graphics settings on the 8.37.4.2s. May have to reformat or just stick w/ the 8.38s if I can't fix it. Just went through a Windows Repair and it still didn't fix the problem.
In bad need of a new driver release right now. I'm too young a guy to lose all of my hair.

That sounds frustrating.
You might want to try uninstalling .Net then installing it again. Perhaps try 1.1 and 2.0 together. I remember sometimes the CCC would prefer one version over the other. Of course that was a while ago. I am making wild guesses here.
I'd try to uninstall the driver and .Net from safe mode. I know you can with your Cats and I am not sure you can remove .Net in safe mode. Never tried it.
BTW DH is a good place to ask about ATi drivers:
http://www.driverheaven.net/ati-radeon-drivers/
As is B3D:
http://forum.beyond3d.com/
Another wild guess, try disabling the ATi Hotkey service by running "services.msc" and selecting it there. Set it to "Disabled".

Bah, just uninstalled .net 2.0 and it did nothing. No more patience for this tonight.. I'll try it again tomorrow.
Right now I need to take out some of my frustration w/ my rocket launcher on Halo. Time to kick some ***.

I really dont know why some people cant seem to get this or MM2 to run with Geforce cards. It runs perfectly fine for me. I had to add the game to the profile list to enable af and aa for it.

By the way... Do you happen to know what the framerate is in this scene from Oblivion for everyone else's video cards?

Xion, remove your ATI drivers and use drivercleaner to remove any leftovers, then reinstall the version you chose to work with. Had an annoying crashing issue with my nvidia drivers and reinstalling them didn't work. DC solved it for me.

Aquamark 3
Sadly a license is needed for the res and settings we've used here so this is the default settings.

rthdribl (funky name for a funky program)

This has limited value as a comparison tool but its kinda nice anyway with 3D models/materials/HDR lightning model manipulation in realtime.

I think the folder got corrupted from all the driver crashes. I had the same thing happen on the early G80 drivers before and had to reformat.
Think I will.

Maybe you should back up your c drive after a fresh install using acronis or something similar,i used mine a LOT for a while when the bsod's and crashes corrupted my os.Instead of having to format/reinstall you can go back to your base install in under 10 minutes wich is damn handy .

Yeah, I might look into something like that in the future. Windows repair usually fixes stuff like this, but it's not fixing it this time. I can't even get my Windows updates right now. Somehow that folder got corrupted, too.
Ah, the joys of new hardware...

Dude that sucks, hope you get it worked out.;)
Not that this has anything to do with your corrupt OS but if that new mother board doesnt work out for you at least you can sell it at a profit since you got a steal on it.
