Yeah I know that and thats why I started this thread. He has pretty much the same games that I and a lot of others around here have so it could be lots of fun to do some comparisons.

LOL... I know what you mean. I used to frequent AMDZone far more than this site... but the same thing happens over there as what you described happening at Tom's. But I still go to AMDZone. Just not nearly as often as I'm here. :p

Anyhow, we shouldn't be talking about other forums- mods are strict about that. They'll lock this thread in a heart beat.

+1, I just got partially banned at Xtremesystems for calling out a mod for being a shill. It's funny because I barely even implied it, but the defensive reaction actions speak loudly. I used to think that most forums are good places to find unbiased info, but there's a lot of marketing dollars going into forums these days.

I think one of the great things about this place is that it isn't moderated by a bunch of little napoleons and is upfront about being a nvidia enthusiast website, so you can't whine about bias...

Tried to. Doesn't work with these. Hopefully a driver release in the future will fix that.

I have a few R6 screenies coming up in a second using a Single 8800GTX at Stock Speed with driver 165.01. I will take more screens later when I have more time. Settings are 1680X1050 16XHQAF. In game options are-


Hardware Skinning On.
High Dynamic Range On.
Shadow Quality Med.
Motion Blur On.
Blur Quality Very High.

All I can say is that if anyone here is not using the beta 165.01s you are really missing out.

Right here used to dip down nasty low on a single 8800GTX but thats no longer the case.

The majority of the time the game played at 70+FPS under the settings I posted even with guns a blazing. This is the best I have seen it run on a single 8800GTX.


I will post more screenies of R6 later. Its just so freakin time consuming.

Try getting a few soldiers on the screen as a good comparison, Rob. I remember my GTX used to drop to 45 every time one of them was on the screen. I'd like to see how much of an improvement they've made with that.
