In Command & Conquer 3 when shaders are set to ultra high, cerain objects have no shaders at all, they're just colored blobs. I tried contacting nvidia about this but they don't seem to respond. Anyone know of a sure fire way to contact them about driver issues? I am confident it's a driver issue because I tried the older 97.94 driver and shaders work fine on ultra high.

Don't think u gonna get a response, I once had a standard mail, they gonna release a driver in the next week and it was all I received, but it seems they actually read, and fix (if it has a high priority, cause alot of people posted the bug) the bugs.

Read on the forum that people posted a bug and in the next release it was fixed...

CNC3 runs fine and looks great on my setup without any issues in both XP and Vista. The only problem I have is since CNC3's release and comparing it to an X1950XTX and recently an 2900XT is that when you use Nod's cloaking towers and you've got an Nvidia setup the entire structure disappears on my screen instead of just fading as it does on ATI products. This is while I am playing as Nod and my own structures end up disappearing to me.

Many people are having the problem, you may just not notice it. Going back to the 9x version of drivers fixes the problem. Here's some screenshots

The shaders should look something like this on the tiberium glaciers:

But with ultra shaders on (at least SOME, a few people said they don't have the problem but they failed to say which driver they were using) the GeForce 8 series cards it looks like this:

The tiberium also does not look as good as it should:

Yeah I've been reading about this issue but I have yet to see it all.

Oh I think I know why you're not having the issue. Some of the Vista drivers seem to not have that problem.

Yeah but I've never had the issue even on my XP setup when I switched a month ago.

i am using the 158.45s right now and don't have that problem maybe it is because i am using a 7800 Go, but with all the drivers i have used with vista and playing C&C3. I haven't had that problem.

The problem only occurs in the 8 series. I am not sure which Vista drivers have the issue (I think people with 158.45 have been reporting that this does not occur). I've also tried installing the patch for C&C3 that came out today, 1.05. No difference though. I'm convinced it's a flaw in the drivers. But so far this is my experience with the XP drivers and can absolutely confirm these results.

Official Drivers
97.94 (April 5th) and below - Shaders appear fine when set to ultra
158.19 (April 17th) to 158.22 (May 19th) - Shaders appear incorrectly when set to ultra

Unofficial Drivers
160.02 and 160.03 - Shaders appear incorrectly when set to ultra
165.01 - Shaders appear incorrectly when set to ultra

I really don't think nvidia is getting my bug report. I think their form is broken (I've used it in the past and usually have gotten a fairly quick response). Again, does anyone know how to inform anyone at nvidia about this?

It's been about a week without a response.

they will not respond to every bugreport.

so why doesnt every 8800 do this?? mine doesnt, and seemingly no ones else either? maybe you have a bad stream proc on your 88?

At least 10 or so people on the C&C3 forum have the issue, including one person who had an 8600 GTS as well. But it mostly seems to be with the XP drivers and not the Vista ones. If one driver breaks it and another fixes it, that leads me to think it's a problem on NVIDIA's end and not the card's end. I mean it does work absolutely fine with certain drivers, just not the most recent ones. If there were a bad stream processor, I would think it would not display properly despite what driver version you have.

Also no one seems to ever tell me what their driver version is so I can pinpoint the issue (I don't have Vista so I can't test which drivers work and which don't). :banghead:
