It look certainly AMD's Barcelona will be dead on arrival.

Intel 45nm Penryn completed destroyed Barcelona.

8 core Barcelona scored 16000 so a quad Barcelona should score 8000 on Cinebench 10.

Guess AMD are heading to financial ruins.

A quad core Penryn will be my next upgrade if it sell at low price. :D

Question: Why did the X6800 Score better than the Penryn dual core @ 3.33 Ghz? That sounds like a step in the wrong direction for intel. :(

QX6800 is quad core, not dual core.

Actualy just to sort of put things into perspective, the V8 did the render in 16 secs, Baracelona (1.6ghz Octa-core) in 27 sec....my overclocked x2 4400@2.6Ghz did the render in 27 secs.

So clock for ..Barca upto it? But I dunno becauser my cinebench version is 9.5. I wonder what theyw ere using to test the Barca and V8

8 cores just sounds so unreal...It seems like yesterday when the quads came out. Duals seem like nothing now, haha. I remember when having a dual core was like saying you had a quad gpu system and 4 gbs of ram

yeah right, "a pair" of brand spanking new 45nm quadcores and theres no competition to speak of....I'm sure a person will be able to score themselves 2 of those bad boys for what... $240?? $300?? oops..forgot a 0 lol, with no competition...$1250 a piece would be my guess, if not more.

I used to be the biggest supporter of AMD and ATI...

Now they suck...

And I look at myself back then, and cry...

Intel and Nvidia will hold the reigns for a LONG LONG LONG time to come.

Poor AMD is still getting their asses beat by a long shot. Intel will remain on top as long as their formula is mixed right. Intel is so far ahead of AMD!!! I'm so glad now run home AMD Fan boys! HAHAHAHA!!!!! Who wants an AMD Now? HAHAHAHAHHA!!!!

Actually as said before, we don't need a monopoly which if it happens doesn't serve in the best interest of the consumers.

Ahhhh roger that. Dunno why I thought that just said X6800.

God, I hate it when that happens. :p

BTW, Nice Intel V8 scores. Looks like V8 is what 4x4 should have been.

I would hope people like Digital_Trans would understand this.

He wont, cause he is a blind and un-educated fanboy. He continually wears Intel and nVidia tinted glasses and refuses to take them off. He'd gladly pay Intel $600 for their mainstream CPU... as that is what we'll be seeing in the future if AMD goes under or gets bought by another company.

His ignorance on this topic is mind numbing. :retard:

Maybe we'll get lucky and even without any real competition from AMD the price of these quad-cores will be reasona..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I can't even keep a straight face thinking about what the prices for these suckers are gonna be. But, I'll be happy with a QX6600 at the end of the month.

Same here. Soon as the Q6600 hits the $266 mark I'm buying one. I've waited this long, what's a little bit longer?

$266 for a Q6600??? WTF? The ones I can see are around 359. I really hope the Agena processors are semi decent. I really don't know why AMD ditched 939. A 6000+ processor in my machine would be awesome. No I might be forced to take the Intel upgrade path.
