No Crytek or Valve? Out of that list I would have to pick id.

few years ago i would have said Ubisoft, but now its probably one of the worst.

currently my number one is THQ, Titan Quest, Supreme Commander and Stalker. 3 great titles with good support and strong release.

btw, why is id and Bethesda on the list? those are developers.

is epic considered a publisher or developer? they only made the unreal series, the unreal tournament series and gears of war.

Stupid thread. ID Software is a developer, not a publisher.

Also, where's Ubisoft ?

id and epic are developers, they make games, they don't release them, publisher does that, in case of id and epic they worked with activision, atari and midway in the past.

Hard to pick just one as every publisher has its own great games.
anyway i voted Bethesda for their ES series.

id Software & Atari/Epic, the reason being native Linux clients for their games.

THQ has really been impressing me lately. Titan Quest, Warhammer 40,000 are my favorites. Never did check out CoH or STALKER since I hate WWII games, and I doubt STALKER would fare too well on my laptop.

CoH is a great game! Even with it's theme, I recommend you to give it a try.

Well at the moment THQ because of STALKER and Supreme Commander :)

Ubisoft was left out for obvious reasons.

What happened to Sierra? Weren't they a developer at some point? Have they quit developing all together?

Right now I don't have a favorite publisher. My favorite used to be Lucas Arts because every single game they had published was great up until mid 1999 when they started making crappy Star Wars prequel games, and they've been going downhill ever since.

I think Sierra was a developer and publisher since the 1980s. Now Sierra and Blizzard are owned by publisher Vivendi. I think there are rather a lot more, and more lovable publishers than those listed.

THQ - for the very simple reason that they don't require me to have the game disk in my drive to play their games.

Valve would have been my favorite... oh well. :(

THQ runs a very close 2nd though.

Konami. For making Pro Evo 6. What a game and Activision for COD 1 and 2.
