Not ORTHOS or Prime95 stable unfortunately, but not bad for a $118 processor! I was going to try for 3.6GHz for a 100% overclock, but I couldn't get it to even POST and was wary of going beyond about 1.55V on the vCore.

Awesome work. :D
:wonder: How come we never have any afternoon fun?

It's so predictable, but I can't help laughing. :rofl

Hey I gotta be consistent...
Sweet overclock..I think I'm having a small bout of envious here. :p

Nice overclock. You may want to disable "C1E Halt mode" in your BIOS, though, as it's not good for overclocking. See how it backed your multiplier down to 6 in that Everest shot? I've even had it interfere with some of my games before.

It can harm the overclock? I wasn't aware of that. I left it on so I could try and save some power with these energy costs skyrocketing. :D
I haven't had any problems with it so far. When the CPU needs it it kicks right up to 9x and stays there, AFAIK.
I been able to see around 3.5 to 3.6 on my e4300 as well. I just am not completely stable until around 3.0. It's a sweet spot, so I left it.

Mines not stable above ~333-334 FSB. Tried jumping up higher, to see if there was a "FSB hole," but it wouldn't even POST. Oh, well, 3GHz on a chip who's stock speed is 1800MHz ain't bad...especially for the price.

I'm definitely lucky. I'll check the stepping when I do a tear down (or go quad...)

Those are some nice overclocks for that chip. Keep them coming. ;)

I'll probably cave and get my water cooling gear a bit early just so I can say I got this beast past 100%. :D

Hey stncttr908, I'm looking at getting a e4300 for a rig I'm building for my dad. What kind of temps are you getting at your everyday overclock (3.2ghz)? Will I be ok with the stock heatsink/fan or should I grab a Zalman 9700 for safe measure?

With ambient temps around 22C I get 38-40C idle and high 50's load generally. I'm not sure if I'd entrust it to the stock cooler.

QFT - i am finding that it does in my quest to overclock here too.
stncttr908 - gonan be competing with you soon. I got to 3Ghz no problem with a 0.025 increase in CPU voltage - 333mhz fsb. Gonna try for higher FSB

I'm at 3.0GHz stock vcore myself with my e4300, totally orthos stable for hours. However anything near 3.1 or above with any sort of voltage isn't stable. Maybe its temps, but speed is good enough for my taste anyways.
Nice little chip. :)
Let's start the official NVNews e4x00 club! :captnkill:

Well that's two votes against speedstepping, so when it's hot enough out for the AC again (heh) I'll turn it off and try to hit the magic 3.6 and/or work on getting slightly lower speeds Orthos stable.
Bring it on, Mr. MUYA and others! :firedevil
Man....don't make me fry this thing!

We can have a consolation prize for the first one to blow up their CPU or board. :D

Sorry for the off topic but you are the only one i see here with the new gigabyte board. I got the same board and will start my new build on fri. How do you like the new board it seems like it will be a good over clocker. You said you got to 3.0 with little effort what other speeds have you tried.

Go by vr-zone. They got the FSB to well over 450MHz+ !!!
I haven't really pushed on the overclocking front yet :)
If you want to get to tweaking your memory more then, you have press crtl and F1 on the main BIOS menu. :)
