I already mentioned it in the first page. With only $1.1 billion left in bank, AMD's going to run out of cash before year's end.

It was sarcasm. Of course I know AMD has financial issues. I'm just trying to figure out what exactly that had to do with the post you replied to.

I know it's sarcasm.

Intel has a lot more money and resources to spend in R&D and stuff like that so they can recoup and come back. It's not that easy a task for AMD.

It's still an uphill fight. Takes more than a couple of highly successful products (Athlon and Athlon 64) to make long term success. If The Barcelona isn't extremely competitive with Intel's offerings, they're in serious trouble. However, I wouldn't count them out until they've shown their full hand for the rest of this year.

It wasn't but a handful of years ago AMD was losing half a billion a quarter and people gave them months to live. Then they released this thing called the "Athlon". Hopefully they pull that off again.
