I know i need to move to PCI-e eventually, but i am waiting for the new 45nm quads and PCI-e v2 boards to hit later this year before i commit.... might be able to pick up the next card from NVidia at that time too...

Anyway... do you think this would tide me over until then ? I could always Ebay it later.... Does not seem to be much info about the card ( number pipelines etc ). If someone can point me to a 'good' review or 2... much appreciated....

It will do the trick I'm sure, but it seems like an awful lot of cash to put out for AGP at this stage. What are you currently using?

Currently got a 6800GT paired with an A64 4200+ which is showing is age to say the least....
My current budget for my rebuild later this year is around £1200 ( 2400USD ).... but i do not want to put that much down until the new stuff has surfaced.
You think i should just put up with what i have ?

I would consder the x1950pro AGP flavors, 256 megs for about $160 USD last I looked on newegg a month or two ago.

I'd wait. Why cut into that budget when you'd get marginally better results? If you're still considering it anyway, check out what they're going for on eBay. If you can get a decent return on a resell I'd consider it, but if you're going to eat half of the card's cost or more when you upgrade I'd pass.
