I did that but still had no profiles with 162.15.
Damn.....Did you remove the drivers first in Programs and Features?

Finally profiles are back, thatīs the steps I take, uninstall drivers from add/remove programs, reboot into safe mode, install from hardware administrator the standart VGA driver, use XDC to clear all remnants of old driver, reboot, disable antivirus and run the installer as administrator, reboot, and profiles are back.:D

Glad u sorted it :)
thanks but it still has the problems with Battlefield 2142, forceware+creative X-Fi+ EA means PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES BSOD,send mail to EA they told me that the game is only supported in Win XP x86 so they asked for a refund instead of patching the game to support Vista, nice try, asked creative and they told me that is nvidiaīs forceware, asked nvidia and they told me is creativeīs and EAīs fault.

lol, typical, huh! Well it might just be a case of waiting until the next 'propper' driver appears. Should expect it'll be the fault of the nVidia driver. U dual booting?

try CFF Explorer and use the 2gb addressset tweak.
That fixed stalker in vista, GSC later used that tweak in their future patches
That also fixed DiRT, i been communicating with Codemasters, this might be implemented in future patch

Yeah.
I usually do uninstall geforce 8800 gts from device manager and then clean everything with the xdc cleaner.
Works with all except 162.15 for me. Back to 158.45 for now.

You could try wolfhound's way, if you'd like:

Call of duty 2 crashes to the desktop with these. Back to the offical drivers I go.

That is alot of steps to get profiles working so how many steps is needed to fix drivers crash every time when IE7 is opened (too many i think)
Driver has shown couple of good reason why it should have never been released:(

fixed but I cannot enter on pure servers, thatīs why I donīt want to use this patch, I want EA, Microsoft,Nvidia or Creative to solve it, mainly Creative curiosly after debbuging the BSOD the failure is creativeīs drivers.

Yeah thatīs true, but Vista is, lets say softly, a little picky about drivers, or drivers are picky about vista, if I install this drivers on top of 158.45 i get no profiles, if i do all this things I had done i get profiles.

yes punkbuster might kick you out.
i would say its up to EA to correct this. All they have to do is release a small patch with that tweak. GSC did that in 1.0001 Stalker patch.

That 2GB tweak? Yeah, I've sent them emails and emails and plenty of support tickets. Nothing..."We are not aware that a new patch will be released for BF2. This game was released before Vista, etc."
It'll take 5 BLOODY MINUTES. And they could fix plenty of other things in the game, too.
Someone should start a petition, hehe. (Like EA would listen! That would be the day.)

sending E-Mails to EA tech support will not help. They just sit there with a manual and responding, half of the responces are auto generated depending on keywords in the message.
We need to find e-mail addresses to actuall people in charge, if enough people send a message they might lisen.
After all they did release a patch(1.4) for NFS Carbon with Vista specific fixes. NFS Carbon was also released before Vista.
