You know that the final version of Dreamscene (beta right now) isn't coming out until the END of summer??

~Ibrahim~

Yeah, I know but it works fine with the older drivers and I really see no improvements in the games I'm playing, so... back to the working ones.

I think you might be right, I think Dreamscene is the cause in some cases. But, fortunately, I haven't had a single "nvlddmkm" error since I upgraded to these 162.15 drivers. I was getting them like mad in 158.45 and 158.22.....

These made a very big difference in COJ benchmark! Havn't loaded any games yet in Vista 64. Looks like soon Nvidia will have a good driver for Vista meaning I will be able to dump XP from my system.

A Comparison between drivers

The official drivers from Nvidia seems to be the best performers in general

are those tests under XP or vista?

speed aside, the 158.22 drivers arent very stable, lots of bugs around the place.

(oh and hi, been lurking here for ages - unable to post as yahoo emails arent accepted here)

Vasot02 there is more to drivers then speed. Plus 162.15 is pretty much the same and contains tons of bug fixes.

I've caught wind that the 162.18 drivers have been released, but I can't find them anywhere. Just look at the drivers they are using for this review:

Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3029&p=2)
(Slow site today, I think)

They clearly say 165.18. Might've been a typo, I'm not sure..

But I saw a DX0 test with 162.18 on Vista, so they actually exist:

These are about same as every other driver I tried so far.
I get black screen randomly and rarely in games, monitor goes from signal to no signal a few times, then it just sits at no signal and turns itself off. Computer never does turn itself off, but I have to power cycle it.
It never crashes on desktop though. I have 8800 gtx oc from foxconn, 64 bit vista ultimate running and intel chipset.

Sounds like a hardware problem to me...

if every driver does the same thing... I would suggest making sure you have the correct monitor inf (drivers) installed. Otherwise it sounds like there is a problem with your GPU.

Oh, so there is one for XP? Hmm, they say they are using Vista x86, weird. It probably was a typo, then.

I doubt it, because some games never crash the computer, and one really old driver I tried took a week until it crashed in a game. That is the only time I got a windows blue screen telling me the problem lies in nvidia driver. Newer drivers never show me a bluescreen.
Plus when I ran xp for a while I did not have any crashes.

Oblivion SLI profile is misstyped with Vegas AA
HDR+AA not working and performance is poor.

WMP shows videos with half screen black when SLI is set in auto with nhancer. You have to set single vga in global profile to fix this.

Even IE will eventualy end in a black screen after some time of use...

Why are we still waiting for Vista drivers?

Geez - so now NVidia will release a driver, pull it and still count that as our "monthly" driver. I'm so ready to dump this card and goto ATI if for nothing else a stable monthly driver release....and after that crap with Brian Del Rizzo I really hate Nvidia as a company. They really come off as a bunch of arrogant aholes.

Lookie here, Necrosoft. 158.24 was released on June 1st. The beginning of June. So we've been waiting over a month for our new driver, technically speaking. And we expected it early July, that's all.

Keep your Nvidia loyalty, personally I'm disgusted with this crap.

If we still had no DV for 8800 I may have moved to ATI, but Nvidia came through with the goods :D

Must be nice to be on Nvidia's payroll, every post you make is nothing more than NV propaganda. Even Brian Burke doesn't love Nvidia as much as you do!! :D
