View Full Version : Windows Media Player fullscreen video bars issue in vista and nvidia. HELP!

Ok guys, so I have had this issue for a while, I think it happened when I installed forceware 160.03, as it was fine before this. I am currently using the 162.15's, and its still happening. Basically what happens is whenever I go fullscreen on a video playing in windows media player, it doesnt matter what codec it is, it does it in divx/xvid, h264, wmv or any other codec, the bars that form around the video to fit it on my 20" widescreen monitor, are not exactly full black. Its slightly off black, and its very, very very annoying. Its almost as if its making the bars brighter for some odd reason. I have tried all number of differant options in wmp, turning on and off hardware acceleration, changing the colour of the bars (which just so happens to only effect content not in fullscreen), etc etc etc, and nothing has worked.

I have taken some screenshots, of both 16:9 content, and 4:3 content, to show what is happening:

I am using the 162.15 forceware drivers on my XFX 7800GTX on a relatively (2 months) new install of vista ultimate 32bit. I am currently thinking of uninstalling the drivers, doing a driver clean, and then reinstalling, but I don't know if thats going to achieve anything...

Please help!
