Hi there,
Excuse me for sounding like a total dork but can someone please confirm which files I need for my GF4 4200 128Mb and Mandrake 9.0 and/or 9.1.

I did have NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm but I want to install linux again and on the NVidia site the choices I have are

Linux IA32
Latest Version: 1.0-4349

or

Linux IA64
Latest Version: 1.0-4050

or

Linux AMD64
Latest Version: 1.0-4180
??

I have an Athlon T-Bird 1400@1608/Asus A7A266DDR mobo/Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 730 monitor

I still have the NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm and kernel to go with it.Will this one do for Mandrake 9.0/9.0,it was 8.1 and 8.2 & a GF3 Ti-500 I last used em with.

Also is the NVIDIA Linux installer available in all the usual places,I'm at work and shouldn't be searching for linux video drivers :angel2:

Try using the latest linux driver installer

Linux IA32 (32bit CPU, i386 architecture)
Latest Version: 1.0-4349

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_display_ia32_1.0-4349

Thanks volt,
I've d/l'd the file you recommended, tell me do I still have to install the kernel or does this installer take care of all that?

It should take care of that. All you need (AFAIK) is your distro kernel source (usually in /usr/src/linux)

If you're using a shipping kernel, you shouldn't even need that. :)

In any case, it's always a good idea to have kernel sources installed. It's good karma, or something like that.

(it's way too early.)

Much obliged Andy,

To start with I'll just doing 'sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349.run' with the 'clean install' of M/drake 9.1.

I can't remember what the kernel version is but my initial intentions were to just keep the kernel installed at setup.

I must say,it's good to see NVidia doing something about all the different trials & tribulations people have concerning NV graphics cards, nice one!
