Does anybody know if XBox 360 Wireless Gamepad (USB 2.0) works on Vista x64? Need to exchange my gamepad.. I never tried XBox 360 Gamepad, but there are some good reviews for it.

Other option is to get (again) Logitech RumblePad 2 (wireless), which died on me.

Yup, works just fine but make sure to get the windows compatible version. The 360 pads are the best you get imho

Does this mean I do not need special Wireless Receiver, as the package comes with it?

if you buy the windows package it will come with the receiver.

if you buy the xbox 360 package you will have to buy receiver seperartly.

bottom line is you need the receiver, how else is the wireless controller going to communicate

Well, they do not mention the receiver in specifications. And they show only controller picture. Also there is no word about Vista x64 compatibility.

The controller is about $65 here, not that cheap, would like to make sure it works 100% with Vista x64 before purchase. Logitech Rumbepad II works great under Vista, but want something different, new games support X-Box controllers better..

i was using it yesterday ;)

so it works, triggers are the reason why i bought it in the first place.

only complaint i have is that the triggers are on the same axis

btw, don't install the driver from CD, just plug it in it will detect a driver, then go to windows update for new version.
